The show has struggled to maintain ratings in the United States due to competition from very successful shows including Dancing With The Stars on ABS, House MD on FOX, and How I Met Your Mother and Rules of Engagement on CBS. The Writers Guild of America strike in 2007 also deeply negatively affected the shows as well President Obama's repeated prime time news conferences. Many reviewers including Aaron Barnhart of the Kansas City Star have expressed concern that the show is a repeat of 24 and will be doomed to failure due to its inability to come up with fresh content.
