This can be an historic year for the city of Atlanta if the Falcons can take it all the way. It would be a shocker to so many fans, teams, and cities if they could win the Super Bowl. The remaining 2010 schedule for the Atlanta Falcons doesn't seem too difficult. The teams they have coming up are the St Louis Rams, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, and Carolina Panthers. This remaining schedule isn't really scary and the Falcons can conceivably defeat all of these teams. The team they would give them the most trouble is Green Bay and New Orleans. The other teams should be wins for them.
The defense for the Falcons is doing a good job of containing teams from scoring a lot of points. The defense is holding teams to around 19 points per game which ranks them for 8th in the league. Another powerful component of their game is stopping the run. Thus far this year they are defending against the run game and allowing only 98 yards per game in total run offense. This is good enough for 7th in the league.
Quarterback Matt Ryan is doing a good job this year passing the ball. He has a QB rating of 91.9 and has only thrown 5 interceptions so far. His completion rate is an average of 62.7% which is pretty good. It looks like the Atlanta Falcons are doing a lot of things right and I hope nobody is counting them out of the race for the top this year. They clearly have a great chance of winning it all.
