A blood pressure chart is simply a sheet of paper where all the normal numbers pertaining

to blood pressures are written alongside the BP readings that have been taken from a patient. The chart is a very important tool for monitoring the BP of the patient whether or not the patient is hypertensive. With the BP chart, early detection of a prehypertension or a more serious type of hypertension can mean the life and death of the patient.

There are some paediatric cases wherein mothers bring their children in with a chief complaint of the child not being able to urinate as often was normal and there were some swelling developing like eye bags and around the joints, or even a generalized edema. With urinalysis, the doctor will be able to see a nephrotic syndrome which may have been caused by a prior untreated infection which may have inadvertently affected the functioning of the kidney.

The dramatic increase in weight of a child or an adult due to the inability of the body to rid itself of unwanted fluids which made the BP increase can be indicative of a prescription of diuretics for high blood pressure. The prescription is always accompanied by a doctor's advice to the mother or guardian for a close monitoring of urine output.

If your BP chart never shows an increase or decrease in the numbers, continue whatever it is that you are doing. Maintain that healthy lifestyle that you are leading. If you are bordering on the unhealthy, then stop and avoid that course. You would want to maintain your numbers. However, if the chart already starts to show moderate increases in your numbers, then change your lifestyle and adopt something healthier. Do not wait for the moment when the blood pressure chart starts spewing out numbers that indicate Stage 1 and Stage 2hypertension and where there is now a concern for your health and life.

The BP chart can also be used in the home when there is a home BP apparatus around which people in the house know how to use. With help from family, there is no need to go to the clinic every single time a BP needs to be taken. It is a very simple procedure and even children know how to use it well, free of mistakes; just teach them how to use it.

With everyone taking an active participation in monitoring and taking down the numbers and posting them on the chart, not only will the doctor's job be easier, but in cases of emergency, their diagnosis will be fast simply because you took time out to make use of the blood pressure chart.
