Water Softener Powder May Be Used For Cleaning

Water softeners have many alternative uses specially in cleaning

. The used of water softener powder as a cleaning material will increase the efficiency usage of detergents in preventing dirt in fabrics by removing those unnecessary hard minerals. They deter the detergent particles to attach into clothes. As an alternative in deodorizing, cleaning, removing stains from surfaces, you can try to mix water softener powder in water.

Multiple Cleaning Uses

The most widely used and perhaps the oldest water softener powder could be Borax as it has existed for many years already. A lot of people used it in their laundry as an additive to enhance cleaning and as water softener. It has the capability to kill fungi and molds and is a great multi-cleaner for home use.

The use of Borax as a cleaning alternative can be done in many ways. To have a cleaning solution for your walls, countertops, baseboards, and appliances, just add cups of Borax water softener powder in 1 gallon of very hot water. Stir it until powder is dissolved and put it on a spray bottle. You may use a damp cloth to rinse those cleaned surfaces. Or you can add 1 teaspoon of ammonia and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to the solution to make it a powerful floor cleaner.

You may also try to deodorize your dishwasher machine by sprinkling Borax in the bottom and allowing the powder to stay overnight. Wipe the dishwasher with a clean damp cloth. Load and run it as usual. Borax is also a good scrubbing agent to clean baked-on food off of pots and pans.

Powdered water softeners can be used to get dentures shiny and clean. To create this denture cleaning solution, combine 1 teaspoon of bleach, 1 teaspoon of powdered fabric softener and 1 cup of water. For 15 minutes a day, you can soak the dentures in the solution. Brush and rinse the dentures after. As a warning, it could not be used on dentures with wire, on cast-chrome or contain gold. It could also be used to clean tile grout.

Looking for an alternative but excellent toilet bowl cleaner? You can also use water softer powder for that! To clean and deodorize you toilets, just sprinkle the powder softener into the bowl for several hours or overnight. In the morning, flush your toilet bowl and it will be dirt and rust free thereafter.
