Waterbed Sheets - Getting Durable Sheets That Also Add Style

Choosing the right waterbed sheets is a bit more tricky than choosing sheets for the types of beds

. This is because waterbeds themselves move much more than standard beds and they can leak. You need to have sheets that are elastic enough to be able to stay on the bed no matter how much it is moving. And if you have ever owned a waterbed for a long period of time before, then you know how they seem to have a mind of their own even if they are just sat on.

One of the worst things that could happen when you have a waterbed is that it could spring a leak. No matter how durable the bed is, it is always possible for a small hole or tear to appear in the bed one way or another. Even if this has never happened to you before, it is always a possibility. A good pair sheets will be able to protect the bed while keeping you comfortable.

All in all, waterbed sheets tend to be far more thick than those made for inter-spring or foam mattresses. This is a given, considering that the beds are after all filled with water. But these types of sheets are also made to last a very long time. Chances are, any sheets that you pick up for your waterbed will last you almost the entirety of the life of that bed. However, this is only the case you pick up a pair sheets a high quality. Those that are cheap will obviously not last as long as those that you spend more money on. The more expensive sheets you can find will cost you upwards of $120. While you may find some that cost between $30 and $50, those that are that cheap will likely not last you all that long.

Most of the time you will not be able to find the sheets and stores that normally sell sheets for standard beds. You will either have to go to a waterbed specialty store or have to look online.

If you decide to look online, make sure that you look at reviews in order to keep yourself and purchasing a set of sheets that is low quality. As stated before, the quality is very important when it comes to these types of sheets because they do more than keep you comfortable: they also keep the bed safe.

Also be sure that any waterbed sheets to look at are highly elastic, but otherwise they will not be able to contort with the bed. Nothing is worse than waking up in the morning and seeing that the sheet is sliding off of the mattress, whether you have a waterbed or not.
