Wave Systems Announces Compatibility Between EMBASSY and SED's (NASDAQ: WAVX)

Today Wave Systems Corp. NASDAQ: WAVX announced that the current production version of EMBASSY security software is now compatible with Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Self encrypting hard drives.

Self encrypting hard drives provide hardware based data security. The idea is that a key scrambles all of the data on the hard drive and until that key is retrieved, all of the contents are un-readable. If the data encryption key is deleted, then the entire contents of the hard drive are wiped. This allows for quick overwrites and higher levels of security.

One of the perks of Hitachi's Travelstar SED system is that the computer comes preloaded to understand the given encryption and therefore the disk reading has no impact on system performance.

As laptops have increased in popularity, so has theft. They are one of the most stolen property items in the U.S. due to ease and value of both the hardware and the data within. Especially those who are handling sensitive such as legal documents or trade secrets have a high demand to keep their information safe.

Embassy Trust Suite allows for hardware secured windows login using fingerprints, smart cards and passwords. The combined security of these two products are sure to make anyone handling sensitive information feel a little more at ease in an environment when anything on hard drive can be physically stolen.

WAVX is currently trading at 2.86 down .12 or 4%on a lower than average volume of 152k, the company has been mostly flat over the past three months and has been increasing in equity price slowly over the past year. Cyber security has become increasingly necessary in today's world, and often those who are looking to exploit information are ahead of those who make it secure. It is up to companies such as Wave Systems to not let this happen.
