These actions are deliberately aimed at reducing negative effects of untoward incidents in life like coping after a loss of a family member, failing an examination, separation from old friends and family members. Some internal challenges also require a person to cope like low self esteem, mental disorders like anxiety and depression where there's no real known cause of such emotions.
The idea of coping connects with how people adjust to certain situations in order to maintain a balanced and healthy well being both on the mental and physical sides. There are many however whose ideas of coping often lead to dangerous and threatening results because the answer to their predicament creates another bigger and heavier problem. An example of this is drug abuse. Many of those who take drugs have good reasons in doing so. The side effects of the drug intake give them a sense of well being and energy. Some medications provide added strength and relieve pain and anxiety. Dependence on the drug deepens over long-term use and reliance on the drug for better feelings become more dominant.
The problem of drug abuse is ever troubling before our society. A lot of those who've been trapped in drug addiction need the support and help of friends and family. Greater patience and understanding are required to lift those who've been addicted to drugs to achieve a higher and better way of living. There are many who have this kind of problem but are afraid to open up and share their innermost fears. Society sometimes creates stereotypes that prevent change from those who want it. Social pressure often is also a factor of this big problem.
For those who have are experiencing drug abuse, there is still an option. Entering into drug rehabilitation center will help addicts return to their normal lifestyles after therapy. These centers provide a number of ways to help individuals recover from addiction. Treatment is a continuous process because once addiction has been developed; there may be instances when a relapse occurs. This means that after some time of not taking the drugs, cravings for drug usage often surfaces and so there has to be constant effort to avoid it. Some abusers may require medication as part of their therapy while others who have not developed heavy addiction can benefit from support groups and discussion sessions with other abusers who desire to change.
