Theatre is undoubtedly the oldest form of performing arts

Theater employs several types of performing arts that combine speech, gesture, music along with dance to generate a representational illusion for the entertainment of the spectators. It's always better to provide a concise summary on the plot of the play or a bit of history about the playwright. You can also include the period when the play was first written. This is needed when the play you are writing the assessment on, is a classic.

Mention the name of the director and discuss the idea he has employed in the play. The play could be staged in a conventional or with a unique approach; all depends on the idea of the director.

Then is the turn to assess the performances. Here again you can mention the approach of the actors by giving acknowledgement to the ones whose performances were really breathtaking.

Also quote a few words about the set, costumes and lighting. Talk about all these things with regards to the play whether they were actually supporting the soul of the play, or not. You can even mention the importance of these items to the performance.

Your reader will be reading the review to make their mind for watching the play so tip them off well. Elaborate with reasons why the drama is a must watch. Tell them precisely why you consider that the performance was great.

Include the times of performances, where the performances are being dragged and how long the drama will run.

You can also add a bit of logistical details to your review, telling your readers about the ticket prices or the contact details for the theatre.

Write an assessment with all these instructions in mind and it will hardly go unnoticed. You can also be creative by adding a bit of more information, however this is how a typical theatre performance review is written.
