I was inspired to write this article after a good friend of mine (girl) came to me recently asking for help. I have always been the kind of guy who made friends with girls fairly easy as I was raised by a single mother and spent countless hours as a kid with her and her girlfriends. On top of that I tend to be a pretty insightful person and have been through my own share of difficult break-ups including a messy divorce. The first and most important step in getting your boyfriend back is understanding why he left you. You have to step outside of the situation and as hard as it can be, set your feelings aside. Ask yourself the tough questions about what caused the situation. It is impossible to find a solution to a problem without fully understanding all sides of it. It's like trying to figure out what A + B + C equals without knowing what A and B are, not gonna happen.
It also helps to ask other peoples opinions that have a view on the situation, even though it can be embarrassing, it's necessary. This doesn't just mean running to your girlfriends who are likely to give you a one sided opinion. Ask your family members, roommates, and even his friends. Make sure you get a complete assessment of the situation.
There is no way for me to give broad advice that will apply to every situation but what I can do is show you how to understand your particular situation. Once you have that information it is crucial that you put it to use in a way that will work for you.
No matter what you do you have to take the control back. You need to figure out what his "hot buttons" are and how you can use those to get what you want. You have to let him know that you want him back without going overboard or looking needy. Once you have done that sit back and wait. Don't keep calling or texting him all the time. Show him what he is missing and then let him come back to you.
The most important thing is that you take action immediately after discovering this information. It is widely known that the window of opportunity to get your ex back closes very quickly. Men in general move on much quicker than women do. It's only a matter of time until he has moved on to the next girl that comes knocking and if he is as good a guy as you think he is, they will come knocking, believe me. I speak from experience. Don't let another girl get in the way of you getting what you want.
