Ways To Marketing Your Site And Get Away With Spamming

One of the most serious errors you can commit on the Internet is spamming

. Spamming, is obviously the sending of unsolicited email messages, or placing links on other people's sites that are not really appropriate with the content and those acts that drives customers to your site or a site that has your referral code.

Competition is fierce on the Internet. Advertising dollars for smaller sites are often short, but there is still a need to advertise one's site. That presents a problem: how does one market their site without being accused of spamming? As long as you adhere to a few simple guidelines, you'll be able to effectively market your site while avoiding possible problems as a result of spamming.

Avoid fake posts There may be a temptation to join a forum under the guise of being a satisfied customer, and somehow working your site or company into the conversation, along with the obligatory link. The best advice is to not do that at all. Most message boards will let you post your URL in your profile, and many give you a signature to accomplish the same task. This is how you can market your site, freely.

Don't send unsolicited e-mail One of the best ways to lose your server is to send spam messages. Sometimes, though, people don't even know that they're sending spam, and are sincerely surprised when they are notified that their service has been suspended or even terminated.

Simply put, don't send out unsolicited e-mail messages. If people specifically sign up for a mailing list you offer, and you want to plug a new service, that's one thing, but going through your customer database, or worse yet, compiling a list of random e-mail addresses, is about the worst thing you can do, and although your intentions may be pure, you'll be causing more negative backlash than it's worth.

Post advertisements where they belong If a message board you belong to allows you to post ads, do it in the appropriate section. Mentioning your business in the General Chat forum is probably in bad form, but if the board offers a forum for advertising one's services, then that's where the ad goes. This seems quite obvious, but some business owners sometimes get excited, and with no malicious purpose, advertise their site in inappropriate places.

By abiding to a few simple common-sense and ethical guidelines, you can easily advertise your business without paying an arm and a leg, and you can also get away with the problematic accusation of spamming.
