One of the happiest moments of a woman's life is finding out that she is pregnant

No matter which child a woman is carrying, be it her first or not, she is excited by the impending arrival. The general assumption is that a human gestation period is nine months. The problem with this is that nine calendar months is much longer than the forty weeks/ ten month model. So some people see it as nine months while others see it as forty weeks. Not as reliable as some other methods, this calculator is really more of an estimate. To use this method a woman takes the first day of her last period, goes two weeks back from that date and then adds 266 days to discover an approximate due date.

A less well known method is called the Naegle's Rule. This is similar to the conception due date calculator in that it involves counting. A woman is to count back three months from her missed period and then add seven days. This will give the woman an estimate of her delivery date. Another method is the LMP or last menstrual period. This is probably one of the most common methods. The method looks at the first day of the last menstruation cycle. Once this date is known 280 days are added to determine the date the baby is due. The LMP methods depends upon the woman having kept close track of her menstruation cycle.

Many women are trying very hard to get pregnant. Due to the fact that there are only a few days a month that a woman can conceive, knowing when they are ovulating is very important. In order to track their ovulation they keep track of their BBT/LH or basal body temperature and luteinizing hormone. When these spike a woman is ovulating, and if a woman knows her ovulation date she can predict her conception date and therefore her delivery date. By adding 266 days to the ovulation date a woman can approximately guess date her child is due.

Doctors like to use multiple methods to get the best possible arrival date for the baby. After getting an estimate from methods like the conception due date calculator, doctors will use the ultrasound method. This method involves specialized equipment for seeing the development of the child. From the ultrasound the doctor can give a much more educated prediction of the stage the baby is at and when they can expect it to arrive.

Knowing when your child will arrive keeps new parents from panicking or freaking out. Despite approximate delivery dates, most babies are not on time. They might be early or late, and many factors can affect this impending arrival. Having a due date gives parents some peace of mind as they at least know about when they should become new parents. How to predict your baby due date is the way most people go about discovering their baby's arrival.
