We All Benefit From Double Glazing

Larger establishments such as schools and museums can also benefit from having double

glazing installed and although the costs of having them would be considerably higher the benefits they would reap are numerous too with huge savings on energy bills each month available.

Town halls can also benefit from double glazing as the East Stafford Borough Council has recently proved. They recently received a grant from the sales of a few pieces of merchandise and with the raised cash have fitted the double glazing and uPVC windows to help with condensation and to reduce energy bills. This is good to see that they are setting an example and one that we should all be following throughout the country.

Being energy efficient is a hot topic at the moment with many people campaigning about the amount of carbon emissions being released into the environment by all homes. We have seen the effects of climate change first hand with the erratic change in weather we have had over the past couple of years and these problems are only going to be exacerbated if suitable methods are not taken.

There are a number of simple things that we can do at home and this goes for the whole family. Turning the lights off when there is nobody in the room is a start and making sure that appliances are switched off and not left on standby is important. The main culprits here are televisions and games consoles and we tend to use the remote control to much.

Having things like double glazing installed is a great idea and not only could you save hundreds of pounds a year on energy bills, you are also doing your bit for the environment. There was an argument that producing double glazing was affecting the environment but when you offset the one-off production of each set the benefits they have outweigh the negatives. Double glazing can last up to 20 years so it is a great investment and you will typically save tonnes of carbon that would otherwise be emitted into the earths atmosphere.

We have all seen the adverts about climate change and read all the papers. It is now time to act on what we know and ensure that we all do our bit, we cant change the world by ourselves but together we can make a huge impact.
