2) Will you own all the intellectual property at the end of the web design project. make sure that all original source files belong to you and that you will own all the intellectual property at the end of the project.

3) Check payment terms. pay in installments for work done and never ever pay for all the work in advance. If they ask for this then I would not engage this company. If they have all your money up front then they will possibly not get back to you after a time frame and if you require design changes they might not do them.

4) make sure that the company you talk to can offer a search engine optimisation service or SEO. There is really no point in having a new web site designed if no one can find it and it wont generate any new business or leads. make sure that all the coding will be SEO friendly and they them selves do have a good Google ranking. By this I mean they should be on the first page of Google for the key words web design or graphic design.
