Web Hosting Process

When you decided to create a website on your own

, first you need to select a domain name. That domain name must be related to your content, and then only your website will get more traffic. Moreover your domain name should be easier to remember, as they are pointers to a particular IP address. In general, all websites have an IP address in the form of series of numbers and this will be translated into domain names. Nowadays, web hosting is very much necessary for promoting products or services online. You can choose the type of hosting which is suitable for your needs and that fits to your budget. There are several hosting providers are available at present in the hosting market. Some provide hosting for free of cost while others charge monthly fees.

Once you have selected the domain name, you need to register it with a registrar that has been certified by ICANN(Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). Generally, the domain names are registered for a minimum period of one year. You can continue the registration agreement up to 10 years. If the period of registration contract increases, the price decreases. After registering the domain name, your web host will provide you the details for running your website that includes account password, paths to directories, and domain name servers. The domain name servers(DNS) provide a link between your domain name and your IP address. Thus, if your website hosted in dedicated server it will respond either to your IP address or to the domain name.

After purchasing the domain name, it will be registered on the DNS of the registrar. The registrar will redirect to Site Under Construction page or to an error page until you host your website with any hosting provider. You need to sign up with the hosting provider in which you need to host your website. After signed up with a web host you can start to upload your web pages once you set the DNS. In order to upload files correctly, either you have to set the firewall transfer method to passive or you have to adjust the proxy settings.

Connect your web server by using the FTP software and then browse the folder where you need to upload files. Then find the local files you want to upload. FTP is the best way to upload files to your website and it is not the only way. Hence, after finishing all this processes, your website is now visible all around the world.
