Web Rankings: How To Get To The #1 Spot In The Search Engines

What is the number one most important step that you can do in your SEO plan when

it comes to your web rankings? You have both on page and off page optimization. No search engine publishes information on what makes a website get a higher ranking. If we take a look at other websites and see what they are doing, we can get a pretty good feel of what we need to do. The most important factor when it comes to ranking high in the search engines, consists of how many backlinks you have going to your website.

Backlinks are the World Series in making it to the top in the search engines. Go out and get a lot of links going back to your website and you can just about rank well for any keyword you are trying to target.

I said it before that the search engines don't make it known about what their search factors are. I however, find it difficult to obtain the quality of links that the search engines expect you to obtain. This is just a thought, but reciprocal linking and purchasing links from another person's website are methods that are going by the wayside. I believe that the search engines are going for more of quality instead of quantity. So that is one of the reasons why I think getting the right amount of backlinks in more difficult.

I think search engines are going more for the high grade of excellence when it comes to linking. Keep in mind that your SEO plan should be something that is long term. This is why you need to keep up a good practice of getting backlinks.

The thing that I do to get good backlinks to my website is to write and submit articles.

You want to do things naturally, so going out and posting hundreds of backlinks to a website that just when live is not a good thing to do.

For example, if you wanted to rank high for xxxx, then you would go out and see if you can get a domain name xxxx.com. Some people will be linking to your website just using the URL, so the search engines can figure out what your name is and what the subject content is suppose to be just by your domain name. I don't know why some people don't bother filling in the meta-tags, but make sure you fill in the title, description and the keyword section of your site. Make sure you put the keyword in all three places. If you just follow those two suggestions, you can rank high for just about any keyword you are going after. Last when going for high web rankings don't go out and get all of your links in just one day. Be slow but steady.
