It provides in depth knowledge of how to use Adobe Dreamweaver and Notepad to create Web pages.

In addition, the Web Design program introduces students to HTML and JavaScript programming, and thereby provides them with a great degree of control over the appearance of their Web sites and skills that are in demand by Web design companies. Students also gain skills and experience in using industry standard graphics programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Fireworks to create, edit, and optimize graphics for the Web.

Adobe Dreamweaver helps students develop practical skills with the HTML editor of choice for professional Web designers. Adobe Dreamweaver combines a host of Web design tools in one easy-to-use application. Without any advanced HTML knowledge, students learn to design sites by creating advanced layouts using CSS to manipulating colors, typography, and page layout.

Academy of Learning Nanaimo students also get to learn systematic techniques for each stage of the Web site design process through Information Design. Students learn how user demographics, competitive critiques, feature lists, sitemaps, and wireframes are used in information design process.

Students are introduced to about animation and drawing using Adobe Flash. Students learn how to create layers, scenes, nested symbols, and movie clips. In addition, students create an animated logo, a cityscape, a splash screen and a simple Flash site interface.
