Web Traffic, Web Traffic!

Web Traffic, Web Traffic!

Web Traffic, Web Traffic!

What if I use the right keywords - whatever they may be, so what if I get the right responses?

How does that help me?

Glad you asked, as this will be a way for you to see how all the right keywords and formatting, and SEO, come together.

First, a website, blog, or article, is nothing more than information sitting somewhere waiting to be viewed first, and hopefully acted on.

What are you trying to accomplish when you become an online marketer?

Are you trying to get visitors to your site? That's traffic.

Are you trying to get customers to your site? That's traffic as well but of a different kind, what's known as more targetted.

Are you trying to get buying customers for the product or service you are selling? That's traffic as well, and traffic that is not just "highly targeted" but also "highly motivated".

What does that mean to you?

It means that you have to find a way to bring in that traffic. But, that process is different depending on what your goal is.

So, how do you get visitors that are just interested in information but aren't necessarily ready to buy anything?

The simplest way would be to create a report, article, or even an email series of lessons on the topic and then advertise it where those interested in the topic gather. After all you wouldn't want to sell toy dolls on websites for car afficionados. The interest is probably not there, and your effort, cost?, would be lost as well.

Where would you go to find these interested eyes? Start with forums.

The best way to do this is to search for forums and the keyword of your product.

Once you find the forums, make sure they are current. Many of the forums around don't have any activity for the last few months, if not years. Those won't be of much use other than getting a feel for the interest that may have been there when it was active.

Once you have found the forum or group that seems closest to what you are promoting, then lurk for a few days and take a pulse of the participation. What kind of questions are being asked, what questions are not being answered, what pain is running through the postings you are reading. Can you answer those questions, can you resolve that pain?

Depending on how your product matches those forum participants, you could start by offering good advice and information, even information that may not be related to your product or service but that will be helpful to the person asking for help. That places you not only as an expert but also as a willing and helpful participant.

The more you participate and provide help, the more others will look for your posts and if you have the right signature, you should be able to see those participants visiting your site for a follow-up or a look-see of what you are all about.

This method is the cheapest and most interesting way to get visitors to your site.

Another method is to create articles from your posts and litter them all over the article directory sites.
