Have a wedding anniversary and not sure what to do
? Well whether it is your first or 75th wedding anniversary each one is special and meaningful. Especially in a world today where so many marriages don't survive,so remind yourself that every moment is special and needs to be nourished and treasured. If you are the kind of person that wants something special for your anniversary, don't be afraid to just ask, besides it makes it easier than your partner trying to guess and which may let you down.
If you don't want to come straight out and say what you want for your wedding anniversary, there are many things you could do to hint at it. Perhaps there is a movie you could watch for inspiration or tell them a story you had heard and then gush all over it saying how nice that was such as "I would like that," or "I wish we could do something like that."
You might think that your partner should automatically know this but that is not always the case. Everyone is different and has experienced different relationships; therefore your idea of a nice romantic night could be completely different than theirs. If you do not want to tell him, just write them a nice note with a few ideas and after awhile they will begin to understand what might make you happy.
Ways To Remember Your Wedding Day
- Reminiscing. One idea you can do on your anniversary would take time together to go back and reminisce about that great moment where the two of you pledged your love and life together. This can be done by looking back at your wedding videos and pictures.
You might be surprised at how much you can forget over time, therefore refreshing your memories will allow you to remember all the small facts that may not have been on tape. Perhaps it was the bride struggling to zip up her dress or maybe the groom surprised his bride-to-be with a pre-wedding gift. By simply looking back at these moments can remind you of a time when you both were the most in love with each other.
- Relighting of the Unity Candle. If you lit a unity candle at your wedding, take those candles and melt them all together. Then, each year on your wedding anniversary, relight them to honor your wedding day. Then just sit in front of the candle light cuddling each other and talking to one another.
- Family Photos. Another great thing to do to remember both your wedding day and your anniversary is to take a family photo every year on your wedding anniversary; it is a great way to see how your family has changed and grew each year.
- Story Writing. You could also each write a little story about that year. You can write how things went, what you learned, how you both grew and write some sweet things that your spouse did for you that stick out in your mind. If, and when, you start having children you can start to have them write their own little stories about that year, which would create a sweet anniversary memory album as well. It's something that you will cherish when you are able to look back on them with your grandchildren and then they can see the love you had for one another.
Ideas For A Romantic Anniversary
If you are planning a romantic anniversary, you may want to consider getting a sitter for your kids or your pets, which would allow you to focus on one another. In addition, turn off your phones as this night is all about the two of you.
- Breakfast. Serve your partner breakfast in bed on the day of your anniversary. Start by setting your alarm for early in the morning so that you can get things ready, but try not to wake your partner. If you are not the best cook, consider having someone sneak in and help you.
- Picnic. Go for a nice romantic picnic together as it is simple, sweet and budget friendly. Pack their favorite foods ahead of time and bring a bottle of your wedding wine or a sparkling cider.
No matter how long you have been married or how much or how little money you have, all that counts is the love you have for each other and the memories that you are creating together on your special anniversary day. So enjoy each other and remember the good times you have both shared together on this journey together.
