The Midlands of England are largely a conurbation consisting of a number of towns and counties, each one of which is land-locked, although bounded by various rivers such as the Trent and the upper levels of the River Severn, providing plenty of scope for Midland luxury wedding venues to be found. In Staffordshire, for instance, there is a glorious 13th century castle, complete with its own scenic moat, all surrounded by pretty manicured gardens and parkland all of which is set amongst the gently rolling landscapes of Staffordshire countryside which is glorious at any time of the year. It was built in 1275 so has plenty of history to keep your guests enthralled for hours.

Colwick Hall is a Georgian mansion house, although the building actually dates back to the Saxon period in parts and is a Grade II listed building. It is near to Nottingham racecourse and just two miles from the centre of Nottingham, making it relatively easy for guests to get to. The Grand Ballroom was built in 1776 and overlooks the lake, with plenty of room close by for a large marquee to be added for extra space.
