, today is full of little towns and hamlets that are still alive with the presence of Lord Krishna and the music of his flute. Mathura, a city in North India in Uttar Pradesh state, is located around 145 kms away from Delhi and 50 kms away from Agra. In Mathura district there is also Vrindavan and Govardhan which are around 15 and 25 kms away respectively.

There are many ways to reach the city of Mathura, by Air though the there is no airport in Mathura but there is an airport at Kheria in Agra which is 50 kms away from Mathura and do have regular flights from various cities in India. You can even travel by rail to Mathura; there are express and superfast trains which connect the city through many main cities of India like Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and many more. The third option is by road which is the most used option used by the people of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, NCR, Rajasthan and Haryana either they travel by their own vehicles or there is a very good bus service throughout the area. If we talk about the stay in Mathura, it is very cheap. If you can stay in Ashrams it is the best and cheapest option, there are many Ashrams and Dharamshalas over there of various trusts over there where you can get affordable stay. If you are not comfortable over there you can get Cheap Hotels and Budget Hotels, Affordable Hotels. And if you are kind of a person who cannot compromise with his/her luxuries then there is also an option of Resorts over there. The best season to visit Mathura is from the months of October to March, only because of the climatic measures. If you are looking out for some occasion which is specially celebrated in Mathura and you want to be a part of it then it Janmashtami , the birthday of Lord Shri Krishna. This is the day which is the most awaited day in Mathura by the locals over there; they celebrate this day with lots of positive energy and enthusiasm, there most attractive way of celebrating it is with different colored flowers, this birthday is celebrated in all the temples of Mathura.

It was the month of December, we had a weekend break and we planned to make trip with the family on the coming weekend. After so much of discussion we finally decide to go to Mathura, we planned the trip by our car only as we also reside in Uttar Pradesh, and Mathura was around 250 kms away from our place. Everything we had listened about Mathura and Vrindavan was literally true. So many devotees of Lord Krishna gathered at one single place and such a positive vibes were coming out from that place I cannot tell you.
