If you think about it, one only has to look a little bit and can find an excuse not exercise, not diet. This does not only apply to weight loss. I venture to say many people would say this applies to life. I am sure there is a life coach somewhere nodding in agreement. I am here to tell you that in personally battling my own weight that there are a few factors I would call show stoppers. It is funny how that term is used these days .I mean in business someone puts through a project and says if you find a bug please let me know if this item is a showstopper. We tend to have those when it comes to weight loss too.

What do I mean ? I went Saturday night to a family party. Was really nice. They had some good pasta you know the kind that would not be eaten on most diets. But they also had some healthy alternatives. Such as sushi salad. I am a big fan of sushi, brown rice makes it even better. They also had some good desserts and some bad. The good was fruit and the like. The bad was some good cookies. My aunt is a great baker. So much so I have joked more than once why she never opened that bakery. I respect her desire to be the stay at home mom. None of that is the point of this article. What is the point however is that someone can easily decide to have that evening turn into a show stopper.

If I were advising on weight loss tips I would say the first bit is to stay focused. I might keep saying that to someone till they are blue in the face so here is me saying it one more time stay focused. You will thank me for that later. I would guess much later but that depends where you are on your weight loss adventure. What did I do at that party you might correctly ask. Well I did stay focused but I have a running plan. I ate one cookie and had a drop of pasta.

Now before you ask me how in the world I could do that , my definition of focused is simple. If you are truly in it for the long haul then guess what , if you continue to constantly starve yourself you will give in. Then you will continue to give in and feel sorry for yourself. As someone going through this I am gonna tell you do not do that. What you should do is remember your are doing this for ME. What are you doing for ME. The answer is simple. You are doing two things Moderation & Exercise. Do that and you will be ok. The focus part is the hard part. Staying focused on both. Do not give up. Even if you slip believe me there will be those days. Think of it as a long marathon not a sprint. I have not and there are many of us who keep going. Do that and you will be fine.
