Welcome to the Early Release of Recovery 2 Day™! Or the acronym R2D
What, you haven't heard of Recovery 2 Day? Don't worry a lot of people haven't
, it is new to the recovery industry. R2D uses terms that are new to the recovery industry such as "the recovery industry." Make no mistake, it is an industry and it has many clients. A touch over 20 million just here in America. Hopefully treatment center across America will be teaching the R2D methods soon. The feedback from the people using is has been extremely positive. It is one of the first times people have volunteered for a program that is easy to use, understand and read, with practical applications for anyone.
To avoid confusion, we need to start defining "recovery terms." The language spoken "inside the trade." Each industry has its own language so to speak, and the recovery industry is no different. The problem is, most of the language used 2-Day is very antiquated. Another problem is there are really no methods that have measurable results. How to you measure success in an industry that is cloaked by "anonymity."
The US government is now asking for "measurable results." After all they spend billions on grants and state aid. They are starting to ask, where is all that money going?
What exactly is the recovery industry? It is the 500 plus billion dollar business of treating men and women with a substance misuse, abuse or substance dependence problem. You may have heard it called "alcoholism, or drug addiction." 500 Billion is a huge figure, too large really to comprehend, it is all inclusive, lost wages, lost health, insurance costs, medical research, treatments, and the self-help industry. The self-help recovery industry makes up the largest sector of "members." And while many claim to have "no affiliations" books are purchased and recommended and that is big business.
The recovery industry touches everyone.
But to improve it, we must start by identifying the problems, which starts as fast as you can say "addict, alcoholic, addiction, drug-addict" each are stigmatized words, unclear and subjective at best, and one of the reasons R2D avoids using them. By the mere mention of the word "alcoholic" or "addict" and doubly worse "addict-alcoholic" certain images come to mind, you can't help it. We have all read the news, or watched television, and seen the destruction of friends, families and possibly, yourself. "Avoid being "one of those."
Duality is not something many people study when they think about "recovery," most people have the misunderstanding that "all addiction" is treated the same way. Duality is not popular in most self-help groups either, since most of the self-help industry has specialized in a problem, for example, one self-help program for alcoholism, another for narcotics, another for cocaine, etc but the truth is 2-Day, most people encounter "dual problems." The hybrid of combining substances, the "addict-alcoholic" is a term used in those "rooms" by people that see themselves as having dual problems.
Then, we have another condition, co-occurring disorders, the medical community calls it COD for short. What COD addresses are problems "other than" substance problems, such as depression or bi-polar, to name the popular terms. You start to see, the complexity of substance abuse.
But since most "self-help recovery systems" are cloaked in "anonymity" how would you know. It's very much like joining a secret society, unless you are "in it" and it's not a fun club to join, the membership price, is extremely expensive and painful.
Who benefits from a "new recovery system?" Common sense tells us, anyone that is not satisfied with the old one. Times have changed, while many "recovery systems" have not. Its time has come to help and that is exactly why R2D was created after twenty-one years of research and experience, its here. Not because it aims at the older systems, it simply needed.
Look at some simple math, according the United States Department of Mental Heath office of statistics in its annual report for 2009. 20.9 million men and women over the age of twelve, have either an abuse problem or dependence problem with either illicit drugs, alcohol or both. To establish a base line of "success," for comparison sake, Alcoholics Anonymous or AA, the largest of the anonymous self-help recovery industry, which single handily made the term "alcoholic" a household term, reports having 1.2 million members. In that same report supplied by the US office of statistics, 59 million American's binge drinks. So we can see the amount of "problems" seem to be larger than the solutions available.
Now, if we assume that each and every member of AA is sober and completely satisfied and restored to good health that leaves us with 19.7 million looking for help.
One of the statistics that no one likes to talk about is the failure rates, one-on-one therapists or doctors, medical professionals will offer up 2 to 5% recovery rates. That means 95 to 98% failure. This is not directed at any "one" recovery system that is not the intent of R2D, the intent of Recovery 2 Day is to offer a "face lift." It is designed to help those in AA or any X variable of X-anonymous programs as it is to help any that are not.
Would a more current recovery system, based on medical knowledge, fact and experience help? Of course it will.
That is the purpose of Recovery 2 Day, it was created to bypass the common problems, side step the debates, and help men and women with a substance problem get well, no matter the substance.
It is unique since it combines, science, medicine, and faith for those that want to use a faith based system and a non faith based solution. It teaches basic cognitive therapy models, at an easy to learn pace. One issue for decades has been the "only god" solution that the step models use. There are men and women that do not want that type of recovery system but have limited options until now. That meant R2D had create "2" treatment plans, based on personal beliefs, a non-secular and secular treatment plan is found in R2D. What this will offer to the recovery industry?
Is a choice that has not been available before? Visit Recovery 2 Day online at

You be the judge of its worth. And by the way, what is the worth of one person getting well these days?
If R2D can shift the recovery industry just one percent? How many million lives can be helped?
