West Bengal, the vibrant colorful Indian state on the horizon of Indian tourism has

Sunder bans, located in the southern end of West Bengal is a patch of dense mangrove forests popular for its biggest tiger reserve and National Park. It is the best place for birdwatchers preserving some of the finest varieties of birds. Kalimpong another appealing hill station is tucked of at a higher altitude in the Shivalik ranges. It is visited by both leisure tourists as well as religious people since it is the North-east Indian center of Buddhism. The climate of this hill station is really romantic.
Murshidabad has a long history dating back to pre-historic times. Some of the popular places in Murshidabad are Hazar Dwari palace, Katra Masjid, Wasef Manzil and the traitor"s gate. Hazar Dwari palace museum is located in the palace. Nawabdwip is a collection of nine islands in the Nadia district. Digha beach is West Bengal"s much popular sea resort located to south west of Kolkata at a distance of about 187 Km. It is a shallow sand beach and is around seven km in length. Durgapur in West Bengal is also known as the steel city of India. Places to visit in Durgapur include Durgapur Steel Plant, Bhabani Pathak"Tilla and Durgapur Barrage Troika Park.
Shantiniketan, a small town near Bolpur in Birbhum district of West Bengal is at a distance of around 180 km north of Kolkata. It is the karmabhoomi of the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Many tourists especially the international tourists visit this place in particular.
