What Are The Causes Of Pain In Testicles?

For men, testicles are among the most important parts of the body

. They have to do very important function as they are part of the male reproductive organs. The main function of testicles is to produce the male hormone testosterone and sperms.

Sometimes men experience testicular pain in one or both testicles. Many factors cause the pain, such as any type of injury or problem with the testicles, or when something goes wrong in the abdomen or groin. It is imperative to understand the main causes of pain in the testicles so that proper medical attention can be sought to prevent any damage to their functioning. Let us see what the common causes of pain in the testicles are.

Trauma: If the testicles received some kind of injury or trauma, they become painful. During sports or due to some accident, etc, the testicles can get trauma or injury. The damage and pain depend on the degree of injury. This type of trauma has to be taken seriously since the damage could be serious with internal bleeding. The injury can also results in testicular dislocation and other kinds of complications. In any case, immediate medical attention is recommended.

Inguinal Hernia: It appears as a bulge of intestine due to a defect in the abdominal wall. It sometimes can cause testicular pain and swelling of the scrotum.


Testicular Torsion: In this condition, the testicle is found twisted without any apparent reason, restricting the blood flow. If left for long, the testicle will permanently be damaged. This condition is seen more in the age of 30 years.

Epididymitis: As a result of an infection, the epididymis gets inflamed. It mostly affects at the age of 19 to 40. Epididymitis mostly happens due to the sexually transmitted organisms. Moreover, the bacteria present in the urinary tract also cause this complication. In some other cases, some abnormality within the genitourinary system can cause epididymitis.

Kidney Stone: As one of simple causes of pain in the testicles, we find kidney stone as the culprit. The pain due to the presence or the movement of kidney stone can radiate into the groin area and felt in the testicles.

Testicular Tumor: In some cases, testicle tumor can also cause the pain, however, in many cases, testicular tumor remains painless.

In any case, when you feel pain in one or both of your testicles, you should never neglect to seek immediate medical attention. This can save your important asset from being ruined.
