Another good option for your roof is wooden shakes. Wooden shakes are normally made from cedar, spruce or treated pine. By use of wooden shakes, a rustic look can be given to your building. Such buildings are generally found in northern Europe. The roofs made with wooden shingles are quite long lasting and they will not require any repair before 30 years.

If you want to replace damaged shakes then just pry the individual shake up with the help of nail ripper and crowbar. Next, put the new plank in place and nail it. Now use roofing cement on the nail head to stop water damage.
