What Are The Safety Feature Options For An Indoor Swimming Pool?

Indoor swimming pools can be a lot of fun

Indoor swimming pools can be a lot of fun. If you are thinking on installing an indoor swimming pool then it is likely that one of your first and most major concerns is safety. There are several features that you can add to your indoor pool that may cost a little bit more, or a lot more, but will be worth it to ensure the safety of those who will be around your pool. Here is a list of some of these safety features that you can make use of for your pool:

1. A mechanical pool cover

You may feel that indoor swimming pools do not need covers. There will not be the hazard of leaves or as many bugs falling into your pool, so what is the point of the cover, right? The point is that a cover can keep out people that could be at risk of drowning without the cover. It also keeps pets out that may be able to swim but would have a hard time getting back out of the pool. Not only should you invest in a cover, but a mechanical cover is a great idea. This way, there is no chance of someone getting caught under the cover while trying to swim it across to cover the pool. You will also save yourself the hassle of getting in the pool every time you want it covered.

2. Be sure to keep your pool well lit.

Although you will know where your pool is, others may not. Surround your pool with lights. This will make the pool more visible while also giving a decorative flair to your indoor pool. You can even add more decor by making the lights coloured or using decorative bulb coverings. Not only can you surround the outside of your pool with lights, but it would also be a good idea to install under water lights within your pool, obviously making them energy efficient and to go off with a sensor might be a good idea. This will be safer and also make a late night swim much more enjoyable.

3. Install a motion sensor around your pool.

Sometimes, even when people are aware that your pool is there, they may be more careless than you would like them to be around the pool. Always be aware of someone in or around your pool by installing a motion sensor. This will allow you to be alerted when something is moving in or around your pool. This could alert you or burglars, local neighbourhood kids that are trespassing, or people in your own family that are not paying close enough attention to the dangers of the water. The beauty of a motion sensor for your pool is that you can turn alerts on an off, so at a time when you are using your pool, you will not receive alerts and the person would also be alerted to the dangers of getting too close to the pool.

When you install a pool whether it is an indoor or outdoor one, it is your responsibility to ensure the safety of those who may use it and to prevent accidents from occurring around your pool. These features will certainly help protect and prevent anyone from having an accident around your pool.
