But the usage of electrical devices is hazardous to the natural glimmer of the hair. It can cause dryness, split-ends, and other scalp injuries. If these methods are used unlimitedly, it can cause permanent damage to the hair. The misuse of these electric devices causes serious threat to the hair as well as the scalp. The following are some of the precautionary measures that can be taken into account while using curling iron:

Thorough reading of the appliance manual is a must. The user must be very sure of its operations and other special features.

Usage of curling iron can be fatal. Being an electric device, it can cause an electric circuit when used near water.

Place the curling iron away from water. If it falls into water, unplug the iron immediately.

Unplugging of the curling iron after every usage is a must. As even it is turned off, it is still a live device.

Keep it out of childrens reach. Do not leave it unattended.

Do not use other attachments to the device other than the ones provided by the manufacturer.

Never plug or turn on the device, if it has a damaged cord/plug. For repair and adjustment, take it to the nearest service centre.

Do not keep any objects inside the openings and the vents of the iron.

Prevent the contact of the skin with the hot surface of the iron.

While storing; do not wrap the cord tightly around it. It can cause an unwarranted stress and premature fraying of the cord.
