They start out by saying they are going to lose 50 pounds and at the end of the month when they have only lost 10 pounds; they get discouraged and give up. I have found the best way to accomplish goals is to set them small.
Set yourself a goal of a 10 pound weight loss and when you reach that goal you will feel a sense of accomplishment. That sense of accomplishment will motivate you to set another goal. Weight Watchers gives out awards for each 10 pound weight loss milestone that you reach. I believe they also have awards for losing 10 percent of your total body weight. And, of course, they have an award for the individuals who have lost 100 pounds.
People get a sense of accomplishment by reaching goals. It only makes sense that if you set several 10 pound weight loss goals that you find them easier to reach than one goal of 100 pounds. You can use this concept for many things in your life that you need to accomplish. If you are not physically active at the current time, you should also set small fitness goals.
You can begin with a 20 minute walk 3 times per week. Once you can comfortably complete this goal, begin increasing the number of time you walk each week as well as duration of your walk. If you set small goals and work at accomplishing them, you will be able to achieve almost anything.
