This is not an attempt to convert any Christians to Islam. For every one has his own belief-system and it is extremely hard to brain wash any person if he, or she, themselves do not have their own convictions about one belief-system or another.
It is rather easy to eradicate a belief system than to replace it by another. Look at what Marxism has done to the Soviet Orthodox under the aegis of communist atheism through the seventy years of brain washing. The Soviet Union succeeded tremendously in eradicating religion from the minds and hearts of the Soviets and nearly destroyed there beliefs.
Christians, Muslims and Jews were in the same boat facing the mighty indoctrination machine of education and political-societal pressure. Churches, synagogues and Mosques were either destroyed or turned into museums and schools or sport and creative art stadiums. Now there is a feeble return to religious traditions but the worst is done and most of the Russians are left as zombies who believe in nothing.
Having said this, we turn now to what Islam is facing the Christian belief-system. Islam is a monotheistic religion that believes in One, Unique and indivisible All Mighty, Eternal creator of the universe and all that is within it. He begets none nor is He begotten. God has created man in order to try him. He gave him the brain to think into the universe and work out for himself the plausibility and necessity of an All Creator God to bring about and control the universe.
Man must acknowledge God, worship Him, love Him and serve Him. Man must obey the Divine law prescribed in the sources of Islam namely the Qur'an and the dictums of Prophet Muhammad. Islam considers that man is forgetful and ungrateful being. Man ought to be constantly reminded of God.
God has given man, according to Islam, the freedom of choice between belief and obedience in God and disbelief and disobedience. There shall be a day of judgment at the end of time where all humans shall be resurrected and be held to account for their own belief or disbelief and their own good and bad deeds. The highest of good is belief in God and piety and the lowest degree of evil is disbelief in God and doing bad. Doing good alone, without belief in God is considered as sterile efforts that lead to nothing.
Islam regards the doctrine of Trinity in Christianity as totally false. Since there is only one God. Islam regards the sonship of God or Christ being God Himself is a terrible and heinous sinful blasphemy. Islam regards Jesus Christ as another prophet and messenger of God who was charged to give glad tidings to humans in the Gospel ( Evangel) and to believe in one God and do good shunning this worldly life and preoccupying oneself with the pursuit of the other.
Gahanna is the abode of those who believe in Christ as the son of God, or God Himself or in the Trinity of God the father, God the son and the Holy Spirit, Gabriel. Christians who believe in this shall be responsible for their belief and they shall be punished eternally in Hell Fire. Islam holds that Christ was inspired in the womb of virgin Mary by the command of God who charged Gabriel with the job. Islam denies totally the doctrine of crucifixion, but asserts that someone else was crucified in his place.
Christ was put to death and then God raised him up to Him. Christ, in Islam, is honored in this world as well as in the second. Christ shall be a sign for the Hour of Reckoning.
However, the Qur'anic text proclaims the followings:
Those who believe (Muslims), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans: Whoever believes in God and the Last Day and perform right deeds, their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.' The Qur'an 2: 62.
Islam considers the Torah, the Gospel and the Qur'an as the word of God. But considers that Christians have distorted the truth. The Qur'an denies totally that Christ has pretended to be the son of God nor to be God himself, in his own words.
Christians, as well as Jews, do not recognize Islam as a divine religion, but Islam acknowledges both the Torah and the Gospel as true religions, but rather distorted by humans.
