What Do Air Knives Do?

As products travel on a conveyor, air knives blow off debris or liquids from products to ensure their highest quality

. Air operated products such as air knives ensure that the there is the highest quality standards on every product. Used in drying and cleaning, these air knives compress air to remove dirt and others on the surface of the product.

Aside from drying and cleaning, air knives are also used in different industries that require the power of compressed air. If there is a need to uncover certain electrical wirings or communication cables without risking or damaging them, air is used to remove the soil instead of actually dig it with shovels and other tools. In doing this, it does not only provide precision and accuracy but also protects the welfare of those who might be affected with an aggressive move.

Enlarging a certain hole to further open it for industrial use will require the help of air knives to induce the dirt and debris and help in its quick excavation. The bottom of the barrel is placed just above the surface without actually closing the space completely as it will not allow air to go through.

The air knife work just like a vacuum. It sucks the crumbled soil and dirt out of a certain area then travels up the tube and into a certain reservoir. The vacuum is held with two hands, with a small angle that ensures the suction is to get the material into the hose or the barrel. The difference with the air knives and the vacuum is the intensity that it provides. There is less from the vacuum and more of the air knife.

There are also brands which are used for cooling and maintenance. Aside from tool cooling and unique applications, there are also spot cooling and temperature improvement to keep the continuous power and avoid fluctuations due to overloading and extreme conditions or over-use. Whether to dry up or cool certain materials or areas, air knives is such a big help.

Air knives however, may be confused with the utility type of knife like the Rough Rider knives. Although both types are of great help, there is confusion on such. Either way, these tools have helped us in enhancing and improving our daily lives. However, different kind of tools provides different purposes and the air knives deliver a certain kind.
