What Features Should You Look For In A Ride On Mower?

Having a lawn that you can be proud of and that all the neighbours are jealous of really can be a satisfying feeling for many homeowners

. Whilst the purchase of a ride on mower is a big decision that requires quite an investment, if you have quite a large lawn it is definitely a decision that you will not regret. But what sort of features should you be looking for in the purchase of your next mower?

If your yard is fairly hilly or slopes in a number of places, you should be looking at ride on mowers that are fitted with anti-rollover features. One of the biggest hazards associated with riding lawnmowers is their tendency to rollover when you try to drive them up or down hills the wrong way. An anti-rollover feature could very well save your life.

If your yard has some tight spots and narrow lanes that you will need to mow, you should be looking at mowers that have zero-turn features. This means that you do not need a large amount of space to turn your mower around, nor will you be forced to try and reverse out once you have mown the grass in that area.

If you dread having to go around afterwards and pick up all those grass clippings to prevent them from decomposing where they fall, you should be looking at ride on mowers that have bagging or even mulching features. This will allow the mower to collect clippings as you go and, if they can be mulched, to get them ready for your compost heap.

If you are a person who is overly tall or overly short, you should be looking at mowers with an adjustable seat to ensure that you get the most comfortable ride possible. If you have a large yard, you could spend well over an hour mowing it and, if you arent comfortable whilst doing this, you may still find that it is a job you dread.

If you dont have a lot of shelter area in which to store your ride on mower, you should be looking at smaller models that will be able to fit into your shed or garage (amongst everything else that you store in there). You should never store your mower outside, as weathering could cause serious damage to it.

When looking for a ride on mower, the features are often just as important as the mower itself. After all, you want to ensure that you get the most comfortable and easiest ride possible. For many homeowners, the process of achieving an immaculate and envy-worthy lawn can be a huge task that they dread, but with the purchase of an appropriate mower, it is made much easier.
