What Is A Clep Test?

The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a series of thirty four examinations

that test the college level knowledge of an individual which was gained by course work, independent study, culture, travel or through military service schools. There is a minimum credit that is awarded and each college determined its own policy for an acceptable credit. However, the test is not without cost, but it can be very worth it as it can save you a ton of money in the future. Most colleges charge approximately seventy dollars for the test and there is an additional charge by the testing company. The CLEP offers you the opportunity of acquiring your college degree quickly with credit for what you already know or for what you can learn enough about to pass the actual clep test.

The CLEP testing schedule is different at each college. For the testing schedule in the college of your choice, call the registrar's office and get all of the information regarding the schedule, requirements and fees.

It is always a good idea to be prepared for an examination and the CLEP is not any different. The Official Study Guide 2010 is the place to start. This guide will give you sample questions that are the same as those that will appear on your actual test. Answering the questions in the guide will give you the opportunity to get the feeling of the test as well as help you to become familiar with the kind of questions that are being asked.

You will feel self-assured if you prepare for the test in advance, then get the schedule for your test, pay the fees and take the test. You should have your test results by may from the college within two weeks of the testing date.
