What Is A Reasonable Number of Clothes to Have
?
I am in the process of clearing out my closets as I have too many clothes and not enough room. I am struggling with what a reasonable number of clothes is.
Obviously, for every woman, it will be different, depending on work and entertaining requirements, as well as sportswear. I read somewhere that the average American woman owns 10 pairs of jeans. How many sweaters is reasonable? How many pairs of pants are reasonable? JacketsShoes? T-shirts? I am also struggling with how many sizes to keep. I previously got rid of all my size 6s which were too small, and then when i needed them again, didn't have them. Now I can't fit in the new 6s, couldn't even get a pair of jeans on today and had to go into the back of the closet for possibly even a 10. So, I have decided to keep anything from 6 to 10. But, I still have way too many things and would much prefer a small wardrobe of wonderful things.
I don't really have anything out of date. A few years ago, I lost a huge amount of weight, and I got rid of all the sizes that I went through on the way down, and then got rid of the 6s, at the bottom, so everything I own has been bought within the past 3-5 years. Perhaps others have had this problem. After having lost weight, I would go shopping and find that something looked good and think "Boy, I have to buy this extraordinarily rare garment that actually looks good. I'll never find this again." Taking a long time to figure out those lots of things looked good at this new weight.
Now, everything fits, or is close to it, and it is all current, and all of it cost reasonable prices for what it iswww.ourdressshop.com. But, it is simply too, too much. I have 80 pairs of shoes, for example. For most of my life, I would have about 25. You get the idea. I am not even counting the entire roomful of clothing and other things that are slated for the garage sale. There is practically a clothing store in there. So, the methods of going through the clothes, getting rid of things that don't fit, are out of date, need mending, etc.- that's all been done. All I can think of now is to decide how many one needs and then just pick my favorites down to that number, take a deep breath and get rid of the rest. Need guidance and the best choice at www.ourdressshop.com.
