There are several courier companies out there who know that this is a service that more people are looking for, and so say that they offer residential service while just meaning that they will make deliveries to residences, not that they actually offer their full complement of services to these locations.

Another thing to keep in mind is that some companies are going to charge more for these services than others. In some cases, residential pickups could be accompanied by a very large surcharge. A courier company might do this because a pickup in this part of a city is likely going to be very far away from where the majority of the drivers work will be. There are companies though that charge the same rates for home pickups as commercial, and if you foresee a great deal of need for a courier coming to your home, this is the type of service you should choose.

Residential courier service has been growing in part due to the consistent increase in home based businesses. As more and more people continue to start small businesses at home, you will likely see a continuance in the growing trend of home based courier companies.
