What Is Blister Packaging

When I first heard of Blister Packaging I didn't know what it was

. I thought it was when you had blisters on your hands or feet and I assumed that the packaging was the band aid that you would put over the blister. I decided to do some research and I googled "Blister Packaging". I then found out that I was completely wrong when it came to what blister packaging was. Blister packaging is plastic that is formed to hold whatever the product is inside then it has a blister card on the back that is usually paper board of come kind of a cold form foil.

Many of the backs are push through so you can push through the foil to get the product out. Or there is usually some kind of card on that back and then the plastic on the front that holds the product which has some kind of pre-formed plastic bubble. As I was looking more into it I realized that I use and see blister packaging on a daily basis. One of the most common blister packaging is for a pharmaceutical product. When you take any kind of pill it is always in some kind of blister packaging with the pill inside the little bubble and the back side is a paper board.

This is done because it lengthens the shelf life of the product. Another huge reason is it makes it so the product can not be tampered with and if it has you do not want to buy it. You always want to make sure that it has a form fill seal. Anything that does not could have been tampered with and then you can not trust the product because someone could have done something bad to it. An advantage also is you can get unit dose blister packs which means that the pills are dropped in doses so you know if you need to take two pills at a time or more than that. Or they can do it by the date like many birth control packs have.

Now every time that you go to the store you will start to notice all the different types of blister packaging there is. Any store you go to you will see it whether it is from toys, to accessories, make up, electronic products, and hardware. You name it and and most things are packaged in blister packaging. They do this because with the plastic bubble you are able to view the product without touching it and knowing that it has not been tampered with. Again if you go to buy a product and you can tell that the packaging has been tampered with you do not want to buy it. Some people will tamper with the product and could break it or do something else and you want to know that you are buying a good product.

I had no idea that we use blister packaging every day if we take any type of medicine or that when we go to the store the majority of any product is used in blister packaging. Now you will know also that it isn't blisters on your feet but how things are packaged and stored for a long time.
