What Is So Unique About Your Services That Makes People Need You?

One of the most fatal mistakes that small business owners make is thinking that their passion alone can help them to get clients

. For example, I know more than 10 people who are passionate about energy healing and they all want to do is to help heal people. So how can I decide who to go to?

Ok so I may look into the healing modality I feel I like the most, or I could see if the healer is clear enough himself/herself. I mean if the healer has 1001 unresolved issues and has health issues, I would probably not go there. But this method of elimination makes the process harder for me as the potential client to decide who to go to.

However, if one of the healers stands out uniquely and speaks to me directly through the various media such as the website, flyers, newsletters and maybe videos, it makes my job of looking for a healer much easier. Because the truth is if I have to work so hard just to find a healer to help me, I may just turn to another form of healing like pharmaceuticals! *gasps*

What would I be looking for then that makes this healer stand out? I must see immediately that this healer understands me and my problems.

I want to see that this healer knows what he/she is talking about and, in a simple way that enables me to understand what he/she means too.I want to see that this healer will give me value for the services.

I want to see that this healer has a good track record and has good testimonials from his/her past clients.

I want to see that this healer has his/her life in order, e.g. if this healer is mentally off and often posts nonsense on Facebook, I would know that this person does not have his/her life in order! (In this day and age, it is not hard to find this sort of information about people)

The truth is I do not think I really care about the kind of healing modality this healer is using as long as she/he gets the job done and is helping me to better my life. I do not care also if this healer uses the best state of the art technology as long as I am getting the results I want.

I do care if this healer is honest, has integrity and takes social and ethical responsibility seriously.

Of course in this article I am not just talking about healers. I am talking about all small businesses. Whatever it may be that you are selling or providing, you must stand out from the crowd and offer what people are looking for. This is not a new concept but when small business owners put on their advertising and marketing hat, they forget that they are also consumers with needs. Furthermore, they think their passion alone will attract clients. How wrong this can be.

Ultimately in business, it is not about you, it is about what your clients are looking for. Are you giving them what they want?
