What Is Spiritual Guidance?

I believe spiritual guidance is a personal experience that happens when Im connected to my inner wisdom or power

. Whilst I call this power God, some refer to it as their conscience. Still others call it Source, Universal Will, or Divine Consciousness.

Whatever your perception of this innate wisdom is, each and every one of us is free to interpret it as we wish.

For me, its a very real and very powerful experience. It comes in the form of guidance; a small inner voice that encourages, empowers, or provides some form of direction, but is always sensed as unconditional love.

And when I seek guidance, I receive guidance, and although its not always what I want to hear, its guidance none the less.

Interestingly, while there are times I actively seek guidance or answers to a specific question or situation, at other times guidance just appears as something quite separate from my own thinking.

For example, I was heading out the door the other day, lost in my observation of the lovely day with sun shining, birds singing, basically minding my own business, when a very clear voice said You dont have the keys to .

Point is, I wasnt thinking Have I forgotten anything? or Do I have the keys? I wasnt even thinking about where I was going, I was just enjoying the moment.

This guidance came to me without my asking for it, without my looking for it. And I believe thats the best kind of guidance there is.

I used to say God I need to sort this or that, whats the answer? and then Id trot off trying to work it out myself. No quiet listening for this girl.

Today, I talk (pray) to God and then I PRACTICE listening, quieting my mind so I can hear the answers. Theyre always available if I look for them.
