Sub flooring is the flooring that is laid beneath the main flooring

Sprung floor is a specialized form of floating flooring and is used mainly in sports hall such as gymnasiums and dance floors. It is very effective in reducing noise and vibration which you can imagine is quite a lot when you have a floor full of sportsman or dancers.

If you ask any professional dancer they would not consider dancing on anything else than sprung flooring which is why also that you will see them seem to spring or float across the floor because they can get extra elevation and lift from the flooring. Raised floor

Raised flooring is generally used in office buildings because as the name suggests it is a type of floor that is raised off the ground to create a void beneath to carry cables, wires and ducting. It is usually deep enough for a person to crawl in. It is raised above the ground by adjustable legs and a gridded metal framework sits on top of them which can then in turn be covered with carpet laminate flooring or tiles. The flooring is fitted into the gridded system sections. This means that any section of the floor can be accessed by lifting the tiled section above where access is needed. Many offices because they have computers or instrumentation require cooling and the void beneath the raised flooring is ideal for running air ducting that cool air can be blown through.
