What Is The Cause and Solution for Dry, Itchy Skin


The causes of dry, itchy skin has a long list but there are some simple solutions that are easy to do. Let's take a look at some of the more common causes and how a real natural skin cream could be just the solution you've been trying to find.

Eczema, seborrhea and xeroderma are three causes we will briefly look at. Read each one even though you may not feel it applies directly to you. Sometimes we have some symptoms of more than one condition. Some symptoms could overshadow minor ones.

Eczema


Eczema usually is accompanied by inflammation and reddish skin. Itching skin is typically common. Eczema is a variety of dermatitis or an inflamed dermis (skin).

Seborrhea

Seborrhea as a rule affects the face and also the scalp. But the feet and hands are not involved. This is because the hands and feet have no sebaceous glands.

What sebaceous glands do is release sebum. Sebum is the skin's lubricating and moisturizing substance.

Seborrhea typically affects the scalp and face, but not the palms of the hands or soles of the feet. There are no sebaceous glands in those areas. So they tend to be drier, anyway.

Other symptoms can be red skin, scaling and flakiness.

Xeroderma

Xeroderma by definition means "A mild form of ichthyosis characterized by abnormal dryness and roughness of the skin".

What You Can Do Now

One of the best solutions is to use natural topical creams. They can be for the face, neck, body, hands etc.

The ingredients must be really natural - not just because the label uses the word natural. Many such products are found in drug stores and in shopping malls. Please stay away from any imitation or synthetic ingredients. They may feel good and smell nice but they do not work for you.

Here are some key ingredients to use:

Jojoba Oil

Vitamin E

Grape Seed

Vitamin B5

Olive Oil

>>Jojoba oil is great for removing dry itchy skin. It is very much like our natural skin oil (sebum). It really helps by decreasing the wrinkles and stretch marks.

>>Vitamin E is very good at moisturizing the skin and also for making repairs to injured skin. It does this because it is an antioxidant - free radical fighter.

>>Grape Seed being a very good antioxidant also is very beneficial to alleviate dry skin conditions. It helps retain moisture that could be otherwise lost.

Grape seed contains vitamin E as does jojoba oil. It is very effective in repairing skin damage around the eyes.

>>Vitamin B5 gives protection form too much sun and gives relief after sunburn. It is also a moisturizer and will repair damaged skin.


>>Olive oil - not just for cooking or salads - and this kind of olive oil is not the kind for the kitchen stove. Olive oil is the one oil that shows the most characteristics that are compatible to human skin.

The skin creams you should be using have the above ingredients and some not listed here. A combined system of day cream and nighttime cream plus hydrating and cleansing masks can work wonders on your complexion when followed faithfully.
