What Is The Dating Like Where You Live?

It is funny how many times I have heard comments like "are you a dating coach

? Wow, you must be really busy in LA" or "Do I have to move to another city to find the right woman?" First of all there are many people in Los Angeles who are happily married. Second, my clients are from all over the world and most of them are not in LA. And finally, people from other regions say pretty much the same thing about the city or the small towns they live in - it is hard to find someone here.

Is it really that hard to date in LA? And if it is, why is that so? In a large metropolitan city with over 2 million population about half of them are single, makes it roughly half a million of men and half a million of women. Plenty to choose from if you ask me! Even if you consider that only ten percent of them will be age appropriate and ten percent of what's left will share common interests with you. Still, one percent of half a million is five thousand. All you really need is one. What makes it so difficult to pick one person out of five thousand?

It's the attitude. And the attitude, unfortunately makes it too easy for you to find an excuse why you can't find the right partner. It is a very common limiting belief that it is hard to find true love in the city of Los Angeles. And this belief is what really keeps people stuck. I have lived in five major cities of the world and each city has it's own limiting beliefs. In Seattle people are too depressed and don't really go out much, so it's hard to find a date. In San Francisco everyone wants to experiment with their sexuality so no one is really serious about relationships. In London people are too shut down and don't really talk to one another. In Moscow people are too full of themselves and it is not really safe to trust anyone. And in LA people are too shallow and only care about looks and money. I never lived in New York, but I did love to watch Sex And The City and all the characters seemed to identify with the same problem - how do I meet the right person to fall in love with, get married and make babies? If it really is so difficult to find a mate in a large metropolitan city, how would the population grow so large?

Truth is, no matter where you live, there is love out there for you! Even if it doesn't seem like it. You just have to open your heart and believe it. It's not that those common limiting beliefs make it hard for you to find love, they just make it easier for you to give up looking. But you don't have to limit yourself. All you have to do is just be yourself - the unique beautiful human being that you are. And the light that you shine will not be unnoticed, even amongst thousands of other people in your city.
