What Is True Wealth?
What is true wealth? Is it that you have more money then you know what to do with
? Is it that you have multiple residences? Is it that you can take a 2 month vacation when ever you want to, and where ever you want to go? Is it that you have the most expensive car? Granted all these material possessions are nice to have but is that the true meaning of wealth?
I don't think so; the dictionary has the meaning as, a great quantity or store of money, valuable possessions, property, or other riches.
These are all meanings, but were I am going is, what do you have in your heart? What do you do with your wealth that counts?
Are you a person that gives back in different ways, do you help those in need of help? What you do to give back is the real meaning of wealth?
I want to tell you what wealth is to me, and by doing so you are going to hear a story about a friend of mine that passed away about a month ago.
Gary was a working man, that made just a living, and took care of his family.
Gary was a small man that moved very slowly, took along time to make a decision, was very quiet. Gary had cancer 30 years ago, and went through hell with all the treatments that he had gone through. The cancer was in remission, and he lived a life for about 30 years. Last summer all hell broke loose and he spent most of the year in and out of the hospital.
Gary and his wife had 3 great children and a 2 grandchildren.
At his funeral I was totally blown away, here was this small, quiet man, that I knew had a few friends and a small family.
At the chapel that had to turn people away, there was no room for people to sit or stand. This little man touched hundreds and hundreds of people.
There were over a hundred cars at the cementer, of people that Gary touched their hearts in one way on another. Although my buddy did not have a long enough life, do you think he thought he was "WEALTHY"in other ways other than in material ways. You bet he did.
He saw all three of his children grow up and do good things with their lives, saw two grandchildren be brought into this world.
So when you think of wealth, really think of what that word means, and you will start changing your way of thinking of what you really have. It is all wealth, no matter what it is, it is all wealth.
And no matter what hand you have been dealt, take every step of the way as a learning experience. There are no failures, just opportunities.
It is not the mountain that we conquer, but it is ourselves.
