What Kind Of Exterior Do You Prefer?

When building a home there are a lot of things that need to take place and they all must fall in order

. If something is done out of order then it becomes a large mess to figure out how the missed item can be done with the least amount of rework.

In some cases, some things can all be done at the same time. Some things can be done at any time, but the majority of the work in building a home has a certain order to it and it must be done in that order.

One of the things that can make a home really start to look complete is stucco, or whatever exterior the home owner is using on the home. Once the exterior starts to go on, the home begins to look finished regardless of what the inside looks like.

The process of putting stucco on a home is an interesting one to watch. It is a combination of technical knowledge and art. The first step in stucco is a styrofoam and a mesh that are applied to outside of the home. Then the next step is a little more artistic in nature as the plaster is applied in large, swooping motions. This takes several coats to complete, with the last coat being the color that was picked out by the homeowner.

The process of applying the stucco must be done by a contractor who is licensed to do so. It may seem a little simple to those who watch, but there is some technical nature to it and a lot of responsibility behind it. If it is done incorrectly it will come off very easily or will allow water behind it which will create a mold that can ruin the exterior of the home. This can also make it dangerous for those living in the home.

Some people prefer to have a combination in the exterior of their home. In many cases, the homeowners will choose to have stone with the stucco. The process is the same except that the two contractors will need to communicate to make sure that they are clear as to where the stucco is going and where the stone will go. They also will need to coordinate schedules with each other so that they are not working on top of each other. In the end, the combination can look very attractive on a home.
