What Laser-skin Resurfacing Techniques Work

Most persons, who opt for cosmetic procedures

using diode lasers, aim to improve the appearance of their skin. They

would want to have a smooth, attractive and vibrant skin. They aim to

remove the skin irregularities, remove the upper dead skin to give way

to the to newer skin layers beneath the damaged ones. To cater for all

needs of their customers, the cosmetic businesses provide different

ranges of skin resurfacing procedures as per the preferences and needs

of their customers. The procedures usually employ laser technology in

the treatment process.

The cosmetician will uses varying laser devices depending on the

technique the customer has requested and prefers to be used in his or

her skin resurfacing treatment. The most common used laser technology is

the diode lasers.

The devices meet the skin concentrates beams of light to the target

skin producing a pulsating experience on the target skin. The pulsating

experiences produce heat energy that helps in the scraping off the

unwanted upper skin layer. This means that the irregular scaly skin will

drop of the body giving way to newer cells from the layers underneath

the affected layer to be exposed making the skin appear very young and

vibrant.

The laser

technology supports treatment of different skin conditions. The

pulsating experience produced by the lasers will diminish fine lines

that may be forming around the eye area making the skin appear smooth

again. The technology is also very effective in the removal of wrinkles

that do not go that deep into the skin. This laser technology is also

very effective in the removal of dead skin characteristic of inactive

acne or sclerosis. This means that patients having active acne should

consider the side effects of skin resurfacing before they undergo such

treatment. Dermatologists recommend that such patient refrain from such

treatment until the skin has healed.

In the same vein, the patient is advised to the

professional opinion of dermatologists before undertaking any skin

resurfacing treatment. This is necessary because different skins will

respond differently to varied treatments.

To provide the answer to the topic under discussion,

there are actually two skin-resurfacing techniques. The CO2 laser makes

use of ultra-pulsed beams of light in the treatment process. The beams

are sent to the targeted area in a scanned manner to ensure that they

penetrate the layers separating them for easy peeling. This means there

is minimal damage to tissues that are not the target.

The other technique is the

erbium laser resurfacing. It combines both the laser technology and the

light beams from the IPL procedure. This makes it safe and less

painful. Unlike the diode laser, the IPL does not use laser technology

in the treatment.
