They have been used by our ancestors as their shelter where they stay temporarily for months or even as long as a year while still in search for some place to really settle. Building these cabins was a very good alternative used by our ancestors during the pre-hispanic years because they do not need to be nailed or totally structured as compared to houses built nowadays. All they need to have are logs to be cut and be gathered around by strong men. They stack these logs into a pile in order to build a wall that will be able to protect them from blasts of coldness of the wind as well as direct heat of the sun. These sturdy logs have made great homes especially for those who travel from the mountains and stay in the forest until they run out of supplies and then have to migrate to another place.

While log cabins during biblical times became a necessity for our great ancestors, as it was their form of shelter. Nowadays, these kinds of cabins have become a very good business. If you happen to own a ranch or a farm and a log cabin is the only lacking puzzle in the picture, then you might definitely consider creating one in order to complete your farm. As they say, you will never have a farm to be called a farm if you never at least have one cabin made out of logs. So you build it. The building and construction of these log cabins have sometimes even become leisure for art's sake. Indeed it perfects the picture. It comes in multiple purposes. For one, a mini rest house especially after the planting or agricultural activities where you need a shelter where you can stand by and take a break in. It also offers a perfect place to see and realize what you have actually gone through in developing your land as most cabins are located on a hilly part of the farm. Also, in cases when you are caught by a heavy rain while still working on your farm, you will definitely have a roof to shelter yourself under.

Most people who already own one have developed their cabins into rest houses especially when the whole family needs to take a break from the busy life in the city and want to create a family bond by staying in a farm or ranch. That is why, cabin owners always have their caretakers to take good care and maintain the place other than the farm or ranch in order for them, especially the kids, to have something to look forward to in their stay. In current times, these kinds of cabins have become a status symbol that a family which belongs to a higher status in the society. For definitely, not everyone can afford to have these kinds of cabins and once you have one of those, it only means something that you definitely own a farm, or you own a ranch. Either way, you must be a land owner.
