My cousin has quite a number of moles all over her body and no one was surprised, considering how her mother also had a substantial amount of them since she was young and she never really bothered to consider undergoing any form of removal methods for them. They are called as atypical or dysplastic moles. Dysplastic moles can also appear on the skin after being exposed to the sun for long spells or period of time.

There is not one area of the body where moles choose to appear in. A few might appear in one random area, while many more could appear in another. My cousin's face is clear and flawless, free from moles. But the concentration of moles is around her neck and upper chest area. Now she is contemplating going through some mole removal procedures so she can have a mole-free neck and upper chest.

Why do people remove moles? The truth of the matter is, moles are skin irregularities or anomalies. There is no reason to get rid of those moles if they make you look even more attractive, as a beauty mark. But not everybody is gifted like Cindy Crawford and other celebrities with beauty marks. Lesser mortals -that's us -are unlucky enough to be saddled with moles that are far from flattering. They most definitely need to go.

Getting rid of moles is not purely appearance-driven. Skin cancer or melanoma might be the result of some of these moles. In fact, it is considered to be the deadliest form of skin disease. They might start out innocently enough, but there are some moles that, over time, gradually develop into something cancerous. This is especially feared by those who have many moles all over the body.

You can find out if your mole is a cancer risk or not by observing them and asking for a doctor's expert opinion. If they are diagnosed as cancerous, look into the possible mole removal methods that you can undergo. You can choose among lotions, creams, and even surgical operations and excision. The type of mole removal method you will use will ultimately depend on the type (and the accompanying dangers) of moles that you have.
