What Should Liposuction Candidates Expect From Their Surgeries?

On the day of the procedure, the area is marked, sterilized, and numbed. Fat is suctioned out through small incisions and then the incisions are stitched up. The consultation is a good first step. Many clinics offer free consultations that allow you to meet the physician and ask as many questions as you might have. The surgeon will ask you a lot of questions as well to find if you are a good candidate for liposuction.

Bruising and swelling are normal and should last several days. This discomfort should not be too debilitating, and many people are ready to return to work within a week or two.
