What Started The Tolix Furniture And What Made It Successful

In the Burgundian countryside of Autun, Xavier Pauchard launched a factory that produced

galvanized sheet-metal home products shortly after World War I. He had predicted the benefits the galvanization process can give in the production of both outdoor and indoor furniture - the protection of an iron piece from oxidization by dipping it in a vat of molten zinc heated to a temperature of 450 degrees Celsius. The furniture comes with three different kinds: rust-proofed, robust, and stackable. Just to be clear, Xavier Pauchard isn't the inventor of the galvanization process and isnt the first person to use it.

In the year of 1925, Xavier Pauchard altered his business into a small company which has a divided capital of 1 million francs. On July 1927, two years later, he registered the Tolix brand which will represent his entire products of chairs, metal chairs, armchairs and stools. Pauchard's robust designs were introduced first to factories, offices, hospitals, and ships before becoming popular in the home market.

With his sudden death in 1948, Xavier Pauchard's sons, Andre and Jean continued to run the company together until 1952, which they split into to two. Andre handled the part of the business which manufactures objects in metalworking industry named Reservoirs X. Jean managed the Tolix Company, the brand which was originally launched by their father.

The Tolix Furniture had proven their value as being largely sought after for decades. The Tolix Furniture had justified their success as being one of the highest demands for years. The Tolix Company had flourished over the decades that passed. Tolix was given the award of the Living Heritage Award by the French Ministry in the year 2006. The company had achieved over 7 million euros and had 80 workers employed last year. The managing directress, Chantal Andriot started managing the company last 2004 and was awarded as a Knight of the Legion of Honor last year in July. Now, Tolix is operating with two designers, Eloi Chafai and Francoise Dingijan.

The Rise of the Amazing A Chair

In 1927, Tolix became a certified brand of stools, chairs, and metal furniture. 7 years after, Xavier Pauchard made the legendary A chair which is now a fine model displayed in different design museums in many parts of the world. This chair is now a representation of many industrial designs.The reasons why this chair has gained its fame are the solidity, lightness, and inexpensiveness of the product.

The Comeback of the Locker

The lockers which were initially made in the 1930s were designed for the use in offices and shops have gained their popularity again because of the people's growing interest with business-like designs. Now, it has become more fashionable that has enlivened Pauchard's post office furniture, cabinets, lockers, and baggage lockers. New colors have been added to suit every setting.

Also for the Children

The Tolix bar stools were initially made for adults' use but became well-known to children in our present day.During in the past, the French army and air force bought tens of thousands of these stools.
