Health Gurus have always advocated a healthy and hearty breakfast! It is said that
you should eat your breakfast like a King, lunch like a Queen and dinner like a pauper. This pattern will give you a great metabolic rate and will keep the weight watchers happy!
But how many of us remember to have a "healthy" breakfast and not just a "big" one! Most of us grab a couple of scones, cookies, black coffee and on a whim - we may pick up a muffin also! Yes, you had your breakfast (which is a good sign) but was it healthy and will it do your body any good?
Well, most of have a habit of grabbing breakfast in the morning and thus do not think twice about it. Restaurants have capitalized on this habit and made it into a business. It is said that 60% of the revenue of any fast food chain (in USA) , comes from breakfast!
Thus, the customer should insist on a healthy breakfast, even if he/she is grabbing from a local coffee shop!

Pancakes are good for breakfast if you do not indulge in the syrup and the whipped cream. Put some berries, few drops of maple syrup and you have a healthier option right there!
You thought one blueberry scone would be a great breakfast with your morning coffee? Well, it has nearly 450 calories and 22 grams of fat along with a high amount of sodium. It does not have any proteins, good carbs or fiber which is needed by your body
Breakfast sandwiches in most American breakfast places are pretty good if you stick to basic bread, egg white, some veggies and good cheese (proteins and fiber). The minute you load it up with strips of bacon or processed ham etc., it tends to become overloaded with carbs, calories and sodium
Are you planning to pick up a juice thinking it is all fresh and you will have your fruit quota of the day! Well, you are mistaken because most juices in the coffee shops are processed and synthetic. They do not have an ounce of fruit in it!
It is better to be aware of what you are eating and probably modify these habits in order to lead a healthy life - in mind, body and spirit!
