The heart will have to exert more effort trying to pump more blood throughout the body. Help your circulatory system and entire body by quitting smoking.

4.Stop alcohol.

Too much alcohol consumption can damage the filtering organs in the body such as the kidneys and liver. If these are impaired, fluids will most likely accumulate causing narrowed blood vessels and taxing of heart contractions. Alcohol can also stimulate the heart to beat faster than usual. These effects added to smoking, fat and salt can have devastating results.

5.Stop being sedentary.


Find some physical activity to keep blood properly circulating through your system and your heart strong.Cardiovascular exercise greatly reduces the risk of recurrent hypertension. Look for an activity that you can regularly do at least thrice a week for thirty minutes or so. You'll lose weight in the process which also improves your heart function.

Don't forget to keep your stress levels down as these can be detrimental to your recovery. Find time to relax and unwind whenever possible. You may also need to consult a physician to provide you with the right medications to keeprecurring high blood pressure at bay.
