What To Do With All Those Boxes?
So, you just moved house, you are all unpacked
, ready to finally relax and start to decorate when you realize you have an overwhelming number of boxes to deal with. Some boxes may have left with the moving company especially if they stayed to unpacked some of the larger items. And you may be able to recycle a good amount on trash day, but there is a good chance recycle company may not take all of them. Then what other options are left??? When just moving in it can be hard to think quick on your feet and the last thing you want is a month to pass and you still have 40 boxes lying around. Here are a few ideas for you some including storage uses and some crafty ideas for those with children, and the more children, most likely, the more boxes you will have left over.
Going Green in general is always a great idea, not only can you fold some boxes up on recycle day but you can reuse them, which can be a better idea than just recycling. Maybe you do not have a need for them now that your move is done, but buying new boxes can be a costly problem, try giving them away to someone you know is moving. Another thing you can try is contacting a packaging company to check if they are looking for used moving boxes, some companies will buy or sell used boxes, defiantly worth a shot. Or, give to a charity or thrift store, maybe you cannot use them, but there is a good chance local charities are looking for boxes. And if all that is a no go, contact your local recycling companies, maybe you cant get them all out on recycle day, but that does not me you cannot recycle them!
You are done with the unpacking and you are getting ready to start your fall decorating, but where do you put your summer and spring dcor?? Well, its a good thing you hung on to some of those boxes and packing paper isnt it! Those boxes can be reused over and over; keeping at least a handful of them will always come in handy. What about Christmas, yes, you probably already have your Christmas declarations still packed away nice and neat, but who is to say you will not buy even more decorations as the months pass... What will you do in January when you have more than what your storage will hold, you will be thankful once again you held on to some of those boxes.
Kids!!! Kids love boxes, there are more ideas you can do with boxes for children than I could ever add in here, the ideas are endless!! One really creative idea to use up larger boxes is to build a childs toy kitchen room, using the boxes to make a stove, sink, fridge, table, even washer and dryer. Maybe your little girl is more of a princess, if this is the case, may an enchanted village, including her own castle and thrown, a princess bed for her baby dolls. For the boys, you can try puppet stations, cars, fire trucks, swords, lots and lots of swords, shields, dinosaurs. You can build a large train set to keep outdoors, use up at least 10 boxes, and let the kids help paint them. Taking a quick online peek at the many kid crafts with used moving boxes and you will be in creative heaven!
